The flow switch (or flow controller, flow sensor) in the reducer is a key device used for process control and protection in the lubrication system.
Its main function is to monitor the normal flow of the lubricating oil circulation system in real time, and immediately send a signal or stop running when the flow is insufficient or interrupted, ensuring that the key friction pairs (gears, bearings) inside the reducer receive sufficient and continuous lubrication and cooling.
The function of the flow switch: Once the flow rate is detected to be below the preset minimum safe value, it immediately sends a signal to the control system, triggering an alarm and emergency stop to prevent damage from occurring.
Monitoring of lubrication system health status
The gradual and continuous decrease in flow may be a sign of clogged filter screens, decreased oil pump efficiency, or small leaks in pipelines.
Abnormal fluctuations in flow may indicate the presence of air (cavitation), unstable operation of the oil pump, or valve failure in the system.
It provides dynamic characteristic data of lubricating oil circulation and is an important tool for achieving predictive maintenance.
